Emotionally Draining Weekend
This weekend was the Boat Show at Richmond Raceway and it featured several ups and as many downs as any weekend Big Red has faced. I set up our "booth" in the Old Dominion Building on Thursday and got Big Red ready for the show opening at noon on Friday.
Peggy drove over from Harrisonburg Friday morning and Jean was due a
bout 11 am from the farm. She got within sight of the entrance to the raceway, and some idiot gunned his vehicle coming out of a 7-11 Store and T-Boned Jean. She wasn't hurt other than a deep bruise on her thigh, but her van was trashed. Needless to say, she was a little late for work. And, I'm sure I got blamed for the whole incident. Seriously, we were all shook up, especially my sister.
One of the highlights of the weekend was Big Red welcoming a new member to our little family. Kaitlyn Eckert joined us and worked Saturday afternoon and Sunday. She's a knockout redhead with a breathtaking figure. Much better to look at than either Peggy or Jean. So, I enjoyed that. Actually, she took to our little business like she's been doing it all her life and we'll be using her alot in the future. To bad Tank is now gone. He'd be GA-Ga over her. Probably couldn't make a funnel cake if he had to!
On the down side, it was a
lousy show. Great people, but it seemed like all we sold was hot dogs and sweet tea--the cheapest items on our menu. Funnel Cakes, steaks and lemonade were all down from last weeks RV Show. Bar-B-Que was OK, but again its a cheap item. We really felt the economy this weekend.
On the up side, Todd and Danny walked me over to the track and showed me our location for the races. Awesome! Right in the middle of the two main entrances about halfway down the front stretch. I don't think we could hand pick a better location.
And, I guess, I'd better be completely honest as to the weekend's happenings. Saturday night, at the motel, Peggy tried to get kinky and I ended up with a broken little toe. (Actually, I ran into the bed frame) Bleed all over the place and Dr Conner had to set my stupid toe. Hurt like hell!
Our next big event is the Home Show at the raceway in two weeks. This week, I'm really going in for the oil change and tuneup and a trip to Tahiti.
