An ancient Chinese philosopher once said, "If you're going to get screwed, lay back and enjoy it."  Or maybe it was Don Rickles that said that.  Or my favorite, Martha Stewart. That is what I'm trying to do.  However, every bone in my body wants to do something else.  Like revenge.  Or bombs.  Or something. The powers that be at RIR, namly the Americrown folks, bumped me out of the race at the last minute.  AGAIN.  This time claiming they didn't have room for me and my 10x10 tent.  That is three out of the last five events that I was schdeuled for and in one of the two, they royally screwed me by sticking another vendor booth--their own--right under my nose and wouldn't let me sell items they were selling even though I had stocked up for a huge show expecting to be the only food vendor in the Old Dominion Building.  If you recall, that was the start of the financial downward spiral I've been going thru for the past couple of months. Then to lose the race on top of that and I'm not a very happy camper.  I'm really considering telling them to stick it somewhere the sun doesn't shine. Two weeks ago, Peggy and I had a fair day at the Richmond Auto Auction and a decent couple of days at the Walmart in Dayton.  It also gave me a chance to spend the weekend at Peggy's and to see Kagen again.  It is amazing how much the little rascal has changed in the six weeks or so since I had last seen him.  Peggy, however, keeps doing awful things to him.  This time it was feeding the poor kid lima beans.  And like the brussel sprouts and liver before, he ate them. This weekend, we had a really slow day in Richmond on Friday, but got slammed at Amelia Raceway on Saturday.  This was the first of three weeks that are going to be huge.  Donnie, the promotor, tells me that this next week should be three times what we did on Saturday and the week after, three times that for the VDKA Race.  That week, we also have to add breakfast and I'm thinking about Cheesy Westerns and Steak and Eggs.  Anyway, I sold out of burgers, fries, bologna burgers and several drinks.  We also went thru a ton of sweet tea that day and it kept Peggy busy just brewing the stuff. Tank came in this week and will be with us for the next two.  Probably, I'll add at least one other person for the VDKA race as well.  In addition, I'll have Tank all summer so we're going to try some new things including some midweek fund raisers at some of my Walmarts. Just a brief update on the Fredericksburg situation.  I've tried five more times to get the people by phone in an attempt to get around their edict but can't get the idiots to return my calls.  At the outside, I hope to have a trailer by the first of June and can return under my mobile permit.  But, for now, my Thursdays are still dead. This week, Richmond Auction on Friday and Amelia on Saturday.  Then, Tank and I are trying our first Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at Wards Road Walmart.  We'll see how that goes.
