Erectile Disfunction Funnel Cake Mix
Sometimes one has to just bite the bullet and try to ignore the whole week. I would have been better served if I'd never gotten out of bed from Monday on.
First, business stunk. The girls game at Liberty on Tuesday was lousy. The auction was fair at best with only two loins sold. Last nights girls game was a little better but I still just covered my expenses. That, however, had nothing to do with the teeth gnawing, finger nail chewing week that I've had.
Monday, I had to take the truck in to get its annual inspection. Thinking that would take about ten minutes and $15, I wasn't concerned.
WRONG!
Bad brakes all around, including problems getting the rear drums off. They had to be heated to even check the shoes. Plus, parts had to be ordered that wouldn't come in until Thursday, when I was due in Fredericksburg. After about fifty phone calls, the only possible solution on getting my equipment to the auction was to rent a U-Haul truck. None of the other rental folks will let you tow a trailer (the only way to transport my fryer, grill and tables). Not to mention things like steaks and buns and all of the other junk I need. By the time the dust settled, it cost me over $1,000 to get the inspection plus $200 for the truck. Just to make it more interesting, I had to go through a Health Department inspection in Fredericksburg
Last week, prior to the basketball game at Liberty and the Fishing Expo in Richmond, I found myself out of funnel cake mix, plus my regular supplier was out. I made some arrangements to get mix from another supplier in Richmond to cover me for the fishing show and had a couple of cases shipped in for Tank and the boys at Liberty. Shipping mix costs more than the mix itself.
During the game, Tank called me to report he was having trouble with the batter which was a different brand than we usually use. I gave him some suggestions and thought little more about it.
Tuesday, I used the same batter Tank had the problems with.
It mixed fine. But when you poured the batter in the oil, it was sort of like a blob rather than bubbling up and forming the cake. Normally after a cake is cooked, you take a nice firm cake out and shake some of the excess oil off which is part of the show one puts on in cooking funnel cakes. When this stuff finally cooked and you took it out of the oil, the funnel cake folded over the tongs like a limp d***. Being an old fat guy, I have some experience with erectile disfunction--just ask Peggy--but funnel cake batter with that problem. PLEASE! I even tried some ground up Viagra but it didn't work. Maybe I should have tried Cialis but who wants a four hour old funnel cake. It was awful.
Bob Dole funnel cake mix. I'll never use that again. I threw away a case and a half.
Last night I found out that Tank and the boys will be in Pennsylvania Saturday for some big paintball tournament while Peggy and I are supposed to be in Richmond for the RV Show. It appears I'll have to cancel out of Liberty's double header as I can't afford to not do the Richmond Show.
Hope this week is better. I can't stand any more loss of blood.
