A Tribute To Earl
For those of you who read my blog, please forgive this edition unless you are a member of our "cruise family". This missive is intended for them.
Earl May passed away this past Wednesday following a rough period after a major heart episode. He will be deeply missed by not only Mary Jane, his bride of many years and a large family, but by all of us. He was a wonderful man and alot of fun to be around.
I will never forget him coming up to me at the bar on one of our cruises and quietly asking me if he could borrow a quarter so he could go play the slot machine. Of course, I dug into my pocket and gave him one. On the next cruise, I kept a roll of quarters just for him.
He was a treat to know and be with.
On the lighter side, Ben and Jackie (of Benjamin's Restaurant) had a bouncing, baby boy this morning about 3:00 am. With a full head of black hair, Gabriel Alexander entered the world weighing in at 7 pounds and change, and an impressive 20 1/4 inches. Give the kid a basketball. He'll need it. Looks like Jackie, thank goodness.
At least there was some good news to balance the bad.
Earl, we'll never forget you.
