ALMOST HEAVEN.........WAYNESBORO

This weekend was one of the most enjoyable three days we've spent since we started this silliness. We were at the Walmart in Waynesboro, our first effort there. Not only was it a great three days, despite the weather, but the folks in that area were wonderful. Almost every customer spent time chatting with us about anything you could think of. It made for a really festive atmosphere the whole time. And anytime you have people standing around, it draws more people which means more business. Peggy and I have become a little gun shy when weather is approaching and we shut down several times to wait out storms. In the past, we probably would have stayed open, but Thursday before last in Fredericksburg cured us of that. After the day was done and we had started packing up, a storm from hell came out of nowhere and hit us with driving rain and 60-80 mph winds. Completely destryed another tent, fried the brain in my cash register, and a large tub, which held 150 sandwich buns, was never seen again. One incredible storm. So, we're shutting down now when we see the first cloud in the sky. Despite that storm, Fredericksburg is still great and we're selling four whole ribeyes every Thursday. This week, after we finish, we have to pack up and head for Richmond Raceway for Thursday night and Friday--1,000 kids for seminars and concerts. And then on Saturday, we're cooking for 1,700 people at the Rockingham Memorial Hospital picnic. Sunday I'm taking off to celebrate moms 89th birthday. So it is one crazy week. A report to follow.
