After a little break while Big Red was in for a little maintenance, we're back at work. Actually, I got the trailer back four days earlier than planned so I grabbed an extra weekend back at Bedford Walmart, a location who basically wants us any weekend we're available. During one of her trips inside Wally-world, Peggy was standing in line and noticed the line wasn't moving. After several minutes, the two people in front of her got exasperated and moved to another line allowing Peggy to move up to the second person in line. In front of her was a little old lady dressed rather shabbily including sized 13 rubber boots. She was in the middle of a long-winded diatribe about her goat herd and one of her boys who got a little frisky, fell down a hill and had to go to the doctor where he got seventeen stitches. The cashier was just nodding her head and going, "Uh-huh." This little lady finally took a breath, looked back at Peggy and smiled flashing all three of her teeth. One cuspid, one incisor and a bicuspid. "You're next," she said. Peggy paid for her bottle of aspirin and took four. Honest, folks. I can't make this stuff up. Something weird happens every weekend we're in Bedford. Friday, I left Peggy by herself and went to Liberty to do a double header against Charleston Southern. Believe it or not, Tank and I didn't sell a single funnel cake. That's a first! We did sell the hell out of hot dogs, corn dogs and drinks. But not a funnel cake. Because of the weather, the powers that be moved Saturday's game from 2:00 pm to 10 am, only they didn't tell anyone. So, Tank and I set up to a roaring crowd of six. Needless to say, I got back to Bedford as quickly as possible. Still, it was a fair weekend, even though Sunday was a rain-out, and we hadn't planned on doing anything. For now, we're off to Richmond for the Southern Women's Show while Tank and crew do another three game series at Liberty. Peggy purchased a muzzle that she's planning to put on me and has promised to keep me out back cooking and nowhere near the ladies. I just don't understand that!!!!! A report to follow.
